Converting your bathtub to a shower is a great way to build a better bathroom!

First of all, we’ll need to make sure that your tub footprint is going to be large enough for your shower plans.  In some older homes it’s not uncommon to have a really small bathroom.  There could be extra planning and work involved if this is the case with your home.

Determine The Specifics

These are things like your shower valve height, where you want the shower fixture to be located, the style of shower you want and any other design/build specifics for your shower.  Do you want glass doors? or a linear drain? maybe you want specially tiled walls, the options are endless but you’ll need to nail them down first.

Remove The Old Bathtub

Once everything has been planned and we know it’s all going to fit within your space (it’s possible to make space if we need it!) Your old bathtub will be coming out to make room for your new shower.  We’ll dispose of it properly for you as well, rather than leave it in your hallway for you to deal with.

Inspect The Plumbing

Anytime you tear into the plumbing system of a home it’s always a very wise idea to inspect everything.  There may be some upgrades available to you or better ways of setting things up for your specific project.  It’s likely you’ll never have the plumbing exposed again so take this opportunity for preventative maintenance.

There are many parts to the installation process, and we don’t need to go over every single one here.  Whether it’s tile, stone, glass or ceramic your new shower will be installed as per the manufacturers specifications and with any other tricks of the trade we’ve learned over our 15 years in the business.  As a professional we take the extra precautions necessary to ensure that your new shower remains water-tight and doesn’t intrude or cause damage to other parts of your home.  A hastily installed shower by someone you found on Craigslist, not so much.
